HOMEWORK:
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Class syllabus
This year, you're taking American History. We will begin with a unit on American Identity and will work our way through history through different themes. This class moves very fast and has nightly homework. Students are required to take daily notes and participate in lecture and class discussions. Furthermore, students are learning historical questioning techniques by analyzing historical primary and secondary documents. We are also learning about the way history is told and learning to question assumptions. I hold this class to high expectations in order to prepare you for high school History classes.
In October we will begin research for History Day. The topic this year is “Taking a Stand in History.” We will begin with initial research in the fall. Students will be required to compile their research over the winter break and return in January to polish their final product.
